Abstract
The article discusses the discovery of a trilobite fossil in Spain, which is the first known example of trilobite-based jewelry from ancient Rome. This fossil, likely worn as a pendant or bracelet, was found in a refuse pile near an elite burial site in a Roman-occupied settlement dating from the first to third centuries C.E. Researchers identified the fossil's origin and noted its polished back and scrape marks, indicating it was modified for display. The findings suggest that this trilobite may have influenced Roman jewelry designs, particularly those resembling its segmented exoskeleton. [Extracted from the article]
