Abstract
REGULARSThese rosy-faced lovebirds have made a saguaro cactus home in Phoenix, Arizona. Despite a prickly exterior, cactuses offer birds a way to cool down in the Arizona heat, which can exceed temperatures of 38 degrees Celsius. These non-native birds take advantage of the hollows that have been abandoned by Gila woodpeckers, which uses their long beaks to carve out cactus cavities. [Extracted from the article]
