Can you believe it’s that time again? We can’t. 2023 was another eventful year. There’s no better way to encapsulate all that happened than in an infographic (#MadeinLibraryAware, of course). In case you missed it, this is a snapshot of how you and your patrons used NoveList this year, including the most searched titles plus product updates, blog posts, and templates you loved.

This year’s trends

  2. Summer at the Library: Your 2023 Guide
  3. Announcing new NoveList Reading Challenge Booklists
  4. Back to School: Your 2023 Guide
  5. Already ready RA

Reading challenges were all the rage this year with widgets for monthly prompts spotted all over social media (like this example from the Walla Walla County Rural Library District) and the new NoveList book lists. Bienvenidos a Core Collection en Español

Early this year, we welcomed Core Collection en Español to the familiar Core Collections platform! Libraries use this database to easily find recommended titles for their Spanish-speaking patrons, from adults looking for popular fiction to kids. With books written by authors across Latin America and Spain, there’s something for every reader. We’ve also included popular and well-regarded titles translated into Spanish. If you missed the launch, you can read the full announcement here.

Party time

There was lots to celebrate in 2023 with the release of several new products and features, including new ways to get readers to use your NoveList database and easier ways to promote your collection. Libraries got more help with new genres including Dark fantasy and Novellas, the character appeal neurodivergent, and new ways to work with manga fans.

Lastly, library staff gave great feedback that led to big improvements to NoveList Select. Now it’s easier for library staff to provide excellent service to readers by giving them ways to find books right in the catalog. You can read the announcement here.
