Last summer we announced the second year of the Grow Your NoveList Usage Grant. Like the year before, we aimed to help libraries with funding, training, and project support for new and innovative ideas that promote NoveList databases and readers’ advisory services.
We selected ten libraries who each received $1,000 and had a little more than half a year to complete their projects. Nearly every library saw increases in their NoveList usage, including one library that saw a whopping 320% increase. The libraries tried everything from programs to displays, to social media hashtags, to photo booths. If you’re looking for new, fun ways to promote your RA services, check out the stories on the NoveList Idea Center. The libraries came up with ideas for all size libraries and all ranges of budgets, so there’s sure to be something you can use.
- Pennington Public Library added NoveList prominently to their website including a button at the very top of the site visible from very page.
- Pittsford Community Library created a photo booth that printed bookmarks with readers photos and a reminder to use NoveList.
- Darien Library's Book Matchmaker highlighted NoveList's ability to make recommendations based on interest and appeal.
