Rebecca Honeycutt

Readers' Advisor Librarian

Rebecca selects books and writes annotations for each of the NextReads newsletters aimed at young readers. This means she spends a lot of time combing through book reviews, organizing giant spreadsheets, and consulting various thesauri. Though she occasionally dabbles in books for grown-ups, she’s more likely to be found poring over eye-catching picture books, authentic middle-grade stories, and boundary-pushing YA novels. (Not to mention copious amounts of fanfiction.) You might also catch her reviewing books and audiobooks in various journals and magazines.

Though print is still her favorite, Rebecca appreciates being able to access reading material from a variety of devices, and she doesn't like to travel anywhere without an audiobook for company. Talking is not her strongest skill (her primary conversational gambit is "What have you read lately?"), but she will talk endlessly if you engage her on the following topics: musicals, fandom, Christian Robinson's artwork, or any iteration of Sherlock Holmes.
