DynaMed produces content free of the control of Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)-defined ineligible companies.
DynaMed is committed to creating high-quality, relevant, and practical medical and consumer health information. To maintain our evidence-based methodology and philosophy and meet Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) accreditation requirements, we produce content free of the control of ACCME-defined ineligible companies.* We ensure that the content promotes improvements or quality in healthcare and not a specific proprietary business interest. No product, service, or therapy will be over-represented when comparing competing options; a balanced view of therapeutic options will be provided.
We require any financial or non-financial relationships with ACCME-defined ineligible companies to be disclosed prior to publishing content. Disclosure information is collected from all internal and external contributors with the potential to influence our content on an ongoing basis for review by the editorial team and Baylor University School of Medicine Office of Continuing Education. Refusal to provide disclosure information will result in those individuals being excused from participation. Financial and non-financial relationships with ACCME-defined ineligible companies are resolved and mitigated internally based on ACCME classification guidance prior to publishing and are disclosed to users within the content. These practices ensure that the format, content, and related materials promote improvements or quality in healthcare and not a specific proprietary business interest of ACCME-defined ineligible companies.
*The ACCME defines an ineligible company as any entity whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients.
