EBSCO Information Services Partners with Melbourne University Publishing to Expand E-Book Options for Libraries

~ EBSCO Information Services Partners with Melbourne University Publishing to Expand E-Book Options for Libraries

EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) and Melbourne University Publishing (MUP), Australia’s oldest university press, have partnered to increase e-book options for libraries. This new partnership will provide EBSCO customers with unlimited user access to MUP titles on DRM-free EBSCO eBooksTMfor one user pricing for a limited time.

Under this agreement, users avoid limitations on printing, saving and/or downloading. No sign-in or Adobe ID is required, and no special software is needed to access these titles. Librarians have the choice between the DRM-free unlimited user version of a title or a limited user model (1U or 3U) with standard DRM-protection, enabling them to maximize their budgets and customize their collections to meet user demand.

Users of DRM-free e-books have access to PDF and EPUB DRM-free downloads, either for the entire book or at the chapter level. DRM-free e-books allow researchers to access individual chapters or whole e-books from multiple devices with no activation process, achieving maximum value of expenditure on books through favourable pricing, as well as access to a range of cost-effective ancillary services such as the supply of MARC records and pre-processing of books.

EBSCO Information Services Vice President of Sales, Oceania, Mark Ly says EBSCO is dedicated to working with partners like Melbourne University Press to provide high-quality e-book content for library customers and patrons. “Together with our publisher partners, we’ve been able to make more research materials available to libraries and their students, ultimately improving the overall user experience of our e-book content.”
