Lund University in Sweden and EBSCO Information Services Commit to Extended Period of Collaboration

~ University to Contract with EBSCO for Subscription Services in Addition to Databases and EBSCO Discovery Service™ ~

IPSWICH, Mass.July 14, 2014Lund University Library in Sweden and EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) have extended their collaboration following a recent tender for subscription services and the subsequent award of a contract to EBSCO. The two organisations have committed to work together for up to four more years.

The university library and EBSCO have been working together since 2011 and the relationship has expanded to include not just subscription services, but also a large portfolio of EBSCO full-text databases. Most recently, the library has implemented EBSCO’s discovery solution, EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS).

Commenting on the recent subscription contract award, Emma Nolin, Manager of E-resources at Lund says "We are pleased with the cooperation with EBSCO. There is certainly an advantage of having many IT-solutions for the library, as we have, with EBSCO. One gets to know each other and the vendor gets a greater understanding of our needs and we have, in many ways, fewer people to communicate with.”

“We are very proud to have the opportunity to further develop our working relationship with our colleagues at the university library in Lund,” said Ingolf Kaspar, EBSCO’s Sales Manager for the Nordics. “Their input into the development of our services is invaluable and the continuity we have established over many years of collaboration means that we are achieving a level of efficiency that librarians and procurement expect when outsourcing subscriptions management to agents.”

As an industry leader and information agent with more than 65 years of experience, functioning as part of the subscription and e-resource supply chain, EBSCO is uniquely positioned to offer truly integrated e-resource solutions. Libraries that use EBSCO to manage their e-journals and e-package subscriptions benefit from a number of linking and access solutions at no additional charge.
