All of the full-text articles in Primary Search: Main Edition are assigned reading level indicators (Lexiles) that provide educators with an estimate of the result’s reading difficulty and the approximate grade-level reading ability required for comprehension. Lexiles help teachers meet the needs of students with varying reading abilities and interests and allow students to read along at their own pace.

In addition to magazines, Primary Search: Main Edition provides access to full-text biographies and books, as well as an image collection of more than 1.7 million photos, maps and flags. The database is updated weekly and contains full-text information dating as far back as 1990.
