Configuration of IP authentication will move from EBSCOadmin to EBSCO Experience Manager. Administrators will benefit from self-supported IP configuration in a modern and intuitive UI.
Library administrators will be able to configure and use their institution's SAML Single Sign-On (such as OpenAthens, MS Entra, or Shibboleth) for access to EBSCO Experience Manager. This work will allow for more secure, standard authentication and role-based access control for EEM, an interface where product configuration is increasingly homed. Administrators can easily connect to their SAML Identity Provider using the setup wizard, and granularly manage permissions for administrative access.
Library administrators for EBSCO-hosted FOLIO libraries with Patron Empowerment will be able to hide the option for users to place holds on specific copies or volumes when a title has multiple items.
For libraries with FOLIO Patron Empowerment, librarians can configure a custom note to display to their patrons in the place hold modal. It is now possible to configure the custom note in multiple languages (all supported languages).
For libraries with RTAC (Real Time Availability Check) enabled for the catalog items, librarians can now choose whether to display the due date of catalog items that are currently on loan. The item due date displays in RTAC by default if an item is on loan. Librarians can use Configuration in EBSCO Experience Manager to hide the due date (note that EBSCO-hosted FOLIO libraries also have the option to display the due date but not hide the due date time).
For libraries with FOLIO Patron Empowerment, patrons can now see the call number and volume information for items they have on hold or on loan. The call number and volume information now displays in My Dashboard for items that the patron has on loan or on hold, helping them to identify which volume they have on loan, especially if the title has multiple volumes, like in the case of serials.
The new interlibrary loan (ILL) form is designed to seamlessly integrate with EBSCO’s New UI. This form has several enhanced features:
1. EEM Module: Easily create and manage ILL forms with the new EEM module.
2. Entitlement API Integration: Users will be informed about the availability of a copy through EBSCO full text, SmartLinks+, or Unpaywall before submitting their request.
3. EBSCO SSO Integration: Automatic population of user information with EBSCO Single Sign-On.
4. Multilingual Support: Access the form in all languages supported by EBSCO.
Do not show RTAC when “isRTACapplicable” is set to false
Add “loan type” to RTAC display
When configured by their administrator, users can use their institutional email address to obtain a one-time code to access EBSCO resources. This new authentication method is primarily intended for institutions without a remote authentication method, such as a proxy or single sign-on
Users can search FMO in additional languages, including several languages that use non-Latin characters
