MathSciNet®, an electronic publication of the American Mathematical Society, has been the trusted guide for mathematical science research since 1996. It has extensive coverage of both pure and applied research and was developed for researchers and scholars in the mathematical sciences by expert mathematicians. In addition to expert mathematicians, there are others who can benefit from MathSciNet. Who are these groups and how can librarians support and empower their users to make the best use of MathSciNet?

EBSCO recently hosted a webinar, “A Librarian’s Guide to MathSciNet,” which offers an overview of how to effectively search MathSciNet via EBSCOhost® as well as the native MathSciNet interface. The presentation by Mathematical Reviews Executive Editor Edward Dunne and EBSCO Product Manager George Hurvitt details its various uses for students, faculty and administrators.

This session covers:

  • An overview of Mathematical Reviews and MathSciNet
  • Tips to search MathSciNet on the native interface and on EBSCOhost
  • Ways in which MathSciNet can be used by students
  • How MathSciNet can benefit academic administrators

Watch the webinar replay to learn more about the value of MathSciNet and how you can help your students, faculty and administrators utilize it.
